Santa Cruz Breakers Ready for Action!

The Santa Cruz Breakers are excited to be kicking off their new season of PES 2010... This year the Breakers will begin their new season in D2 of the Barclays Premier League. Expectations are high for the Breakers as they enter their fourth season of play and first season being moved Division 2 of the English Premier League. The Santa Cruz Breakers remain the only team from the United States in a non-USA based league.

The challenges the Breakers continue to face include a number of things such as developing an even stronger fan base both in and outside the United States. The level of play in the D2 of the English Premier League will be even more challenging than the teams the Breakers faced in their last season.

The Santa Cruz Breakers are proud to retain their original two sponsors! O'neil will remain the lead sponsor of the Breakers and are excited that their surf brand and logo (founded in Santa Cruz, CA) continues to be worn proudly by the Santa Cruz Breakers. Dakine remains a strong partner with Breakers as well and is looking forward to sponsoring a number of exciting events at the Breaker's new stadium "Lighthouse Field" in town.

PES 2010

I decided to pick up PES 2010 after debating if it would be worth upgrading from PES 2009 or if it was time to switch to FIFA 10. I spent a couple of hours yesterday downloading an option file and creating my Santa Cruz Breakers team. I've decided to not upload any further photos from my second and third season of PES 2009.

Breakers back in Action!

The Breakers continue to play and have finally moved up to League C D1. I will be posting highlights from the past two seasons and will be expanding this blog with the release of PES 2010 in the U.S. next week. Instead of providing a game update, I will be providing a weekly update for the team. Go Breakers!

Match 2: Shakhtar Donetsk vs Breakers

The Breakers find themselves struggling with losing twice to Willem II.

However, the fans came out in enemy territory with full support for the Breakers who faced Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Breakers came out strong with a number of solid shots on goal.

A controversial "home field advantage" call allowed Shakhtar Donetsk to avoid what looked like a tripping call in the box! Breakers get not goal kick and the score remained 0-0.

Although the Breakers took 12 shots and 8 on goal they still struggled to find the back of the net and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

The Breakers find themselves with an 0-3 start and no goals in the season!

D2 Cup Match 1: Willem II vs Breakers

The Breakers are coming off a tough 1-0 loss to Willem II in their season opener.

Facing Willem II in the first match of the D2 Cup could be an advantage for the Breakers who believe they outplayed Willem II and still came away with a loss.

Will revenge be sweet?

Although the Breakers started out strong, the lack of offensive power only led to 3 shots on goal and none getting that close to even scoring.

Unfortunately, Willem II had a solid 5 out of 6 shots on goal and a strong goal at the 71' to win the match.

The Breakers now find themselves struggling after their first two matches.

Match 1: Breakers vs Willem II

The breakers faced Willem II in their first D2 Cup game. The Breakers played hard and had 7 shots on goal, but couldn't find the back of the net.

Willem II scored the only goal of the match to win 1-0

Breakers Season Set

The Santa Cruz Breakers have had a solid off-season with practices and team development. The Breakers are ready for their second season and feel both more mature and more prepared for the season ahead.

Although no major changes to the team has taken place, the Breakers manager feels that he had the right players in place and that all they really needed was to play more together.

The fans and sponsors are excited and ready for the season to begin!
