The Breakers faced Shakhtar Donestsk for their first League game of the year in front of a sold out home crowd! Shakhtar Donestsk is a Ukrainian professional football club, playing in the city of Donetsk, the capital of Donetsk region.
The match began in a quick manner with Shakhtar Donestsk scoring at the 19'. The goal came after an initial deflection off the goalie and was shot past Lai into the back of the net.
The Breakers came back with a couple of chances of their own that could have tied things up...
However, these shots came up short and were few and far between. The Breakers only had 4 shots on goal and had a hard time controlling the ball with only 45% possession. The Breakers defense should be commended for only allowing 1 goal in this difficult first match!
