League Game 12: Alkmaar Zaanstreek (AZ) vs Santa Cruz Breakers

The Breakers were hoping to get a win against Alkmaar Zaanstreek (AZ). AZ is an acronym for Alkmaar Zaanstreek, is a football club founded from Alkmaar, the Netherlands.

The match began with AZ taking a strong shot on goal scoring at the 8'. Again, the Breakers give up an early goal under the first 10 minutes of a match.

This routine pattern is becoming a bigger problem since it makes the Breakers play more conservatively with the early deficit.

The Breakers took a couple of shots on goal of their own, but the halftime score remained 1-0 with AZ ahead at the half.

The second half began with both teams having a number of shots on goal.

At the 68' Manning (16) broke free from the crowd and took a strong shot that found it's way to the back of the net!

Both teams continued to to fight hard to find a way to score the "go ahead goal" but neither team were able to get past solid defensive play!

The match ended with a draw. The Breakers must be credited with their solid defensive play against AZ. If it weren't for the quick opening goal by AZ, their defense played brilliantly.
